Wedding Dress Exhibition from October 18th – March 27th w/ gowns worn by Queen Silvia, CP Victoria, Princesses Madeleine, Sofia, and Lilian
Year 2016 is the 40th anniversary of Miss Silvia Sommerlath and Carl XVI Gustaf, they married in Stockholm Cathedral and the bride became Queen of Sweden. In Swedish history has not been a queen as long as Queen Silvia.
To mark the anniversary year 2016 this fall opens an exclusive exhibition at the Royal Palace with wedding gowns worn by five royal brides for four decades. The exhibition gives the visitor a unique opportunity to see the royal bride dresses in reality.
In addition to Queen Silvia , Mrs. Lilian Craig married in December 1976 Prince Bertil, the uncle of the present King. In June 2010 wa Crown Princess Victoria’s marriage to Mr. Daniel Westling and almost exactly three years later married her younger sister Princess Madeleine with Mr. Christopher O’Neill. In June 2015 said Miss Sofia Hellqvist yes to Prince Carl Philip.
The focus of the exhibition is the royal brides, and the dresses they wore on their wedding day.
The exhibition displayed in the Hall of State at the Royal Palace and lasts between 18 October 2016 and 12th of March 2017.
