The Vendu Notarishuis in Rotterdam will auction on November 1st the letters Queen Wilhelmina wrote the last years of her life to Reverend J. Lissenberg. She writes it on religion and the “universal church.”
The auction offers a pack of fifteen letters to the minister, of which there are also some written by her private secretary Thijs Booy
Also auctioned is a signed drawing of a tree of Wilhelmina about two years before her death. Wilhelmina was an enthusiastic amateur artist and left more than a thousand paintings, pastels, drawings and sketches of her own. In her autobiography ‘Lonely but not alone “she describes how she inspired the creator with tingling pleasure” by recording the brushes to paint.

The auction pieces are introduced by a private individual.
