The German husband of the Danish Princess Benedikte is dead. Prince Richard zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg was 82 years old. He died at his castle in Berleburg (North Rhine-Westphalia), as Princess Benedikte reported. Both had married in Denmark in 1968.
The brother-in-law of Denmark’s Queen Margrethe, Richard Prince of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg (82), is dead. Her husband died suddenly on his castle in Berleburg (North Rhine-Westphalia) on Monday evening according to the private secretary of Princess Benedikte . After a short stay in Denmark Princess Benedikte had traveled back to Bad Berleburg on Tuesday.
Benedikte is the second daughter of the late Danish KingFrederik IX And Queen Ingrid. The 72-year-old often represents her sister, Queen Margrethe II, at official events.

Benedikte is number 11 of the Danish throne. Benedikte and Richard had married in Denmark in 1968. The couple got three children – Prince Gustav, Princess Alexandra and Princess Nathalie.
