Queen Máxima revealed a new rose during a national symposium of the Dutch Rosary Society and the Oldambt municipality in the Rosarium in Winschoten. The rose was developed in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Rosarium and the Year of the Rose declared by the municipality of Oldambt.

During the symposium, the bottom, rootstocks, export of rootstocks from the area and the development of the new rose are central. The Rosarium is a tasting garden for roses and works in approving and developing good roses. In total there are about twenty thousand roses in the Rosarium in Winschoten of 320 different varieties. Nearly 80 percent of the world’s production of roses is grown in the Winschoten region and exported all over the world.
