In Milan, Mayor Giuseppe Sala welcomed the Royal Couple at the Museo Cenacolo Vinciano, at Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper” mural.
King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima visited members of the mission agrifood, the culinary concept store Eataly. They were getting a tour and watched a show cooking class from a Dutch and Italian chef who work with products from their own country.
In the evening, the Royal Couple visited a football clinic for youth players from the region. At the event, the KNVB, the Italian Football Association and former Dutch top players work together at Italian clubs. Clarence Seedorf received the King and Queen at the clinic, which takes place next to the Dom.
Eventually King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima attended the Trade Dinner. All members of the parallel economic mission are present, with their Italian network.
King Willem – Alexander and Queen Maxima visited the gallery of Rossana Orlandi, an Italian talent scout with an eye for Dutch design. She has brought several Dutch and foreign designers who have studied in the Netherlands to Milan. They were speaking with young arriving designers and well-known Dutch designers like Piet Hein Eek.
The King and Queen talked about the historical, current and future cooperation between the Netherlands and Italy in the field of innovative water management, such as port development and interregional cooperation.
Finally, the couple visited the exhibition ‘Global Denim Awards’, with innovative and sustainable creations of Dutch designers in collaboration with Italian weaving companies.
